Have you ever scrolled to the price portion of a sales page, and it says something like this…
In this course, you’ll get access to:
12 Video modules ($1,200 value)
10 PDF worksheets ($800 value)
6 Coaching calls ($1,500 value)
BUT I’m giving it all to you for just $700! That’s an 80% discount!
BARF.
Not only is this a tacky copywriting technique, it doesn’t mean anything. Your audience is who decides what your offer is worth, not you. You’re just making up numbers out of thin air to inflate the apparent worth of your offer. Plus, it signals to the reader that you can’t get anyone to pay what it’s “actually” worth ($3,500) so you have to discount it to sell anything.
Not good.
Don’t do this on your next sales page. It’s bad copywriting and bad taste. Okay, copyrant over.
