I can’t believe 2021 is almost over! Anyone else feel like Valentines Day was yesterday?

This year was one for the books. Although I started freelance copywriting on the side in April 2020, I officially formed my LLC under Blossom Copy in January 2021 and took the business full-time.

I’ve learned SO much these last 12 months as a business owner. The main difference I notice in myself is that I’ve developed a thicker skin in a healthy way. I used to be extremely sensitive, and it didn’t take much to make me cry or feel really blue. Now, I’m able to let things roll off my back 10x easier, and I owe it all to the lessons I’ve learned and struggles I’ve overcome as a business own.

Financially, I was able to surpass my corporate income in July and nearly double it by December. I truly didn’t think it was possible in year one, but I did it, and it serves as a reminder that anything is possible if you keep your head down and keep going.

In terms of my clients, I’ve been able to serve nearly 50 clients and crank out some great copy I’m really proud of. My copy has helped clients make money, feel more confident, and show up as their best selves each day. I love my clients and pinch myself to get to work with such incredible CEOs on a daily basis.

This year has also had its fair share of challenging moments (as does every year. Life be crazy). But overall, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for 2022. I’d like to thank my family for supporting me emotionally when I quit my corporate job, my husband for listening to my late night vent sessions, and my friends for cheering me on even when they had no idea what copywriting was!
